A beautiful day today, again blue skies and sunshine. What shall we do today? Nothing planned, I ended up cleaning a bit, doing a bit of hand washing, and tidying up. The hubster kindly cut some mats for the steps, which will hopefully encourage us to stop getting in the van with our shoes on! At the moment, Harry is just full of sand!
After lunch I put the coffee pot on (a pot lent to us by a very kind neighbour) it’s been a wonder, it produces fabulous coffee. As there was more than one cup left in the pot, we asked the neighbour if he would like a cup, he’s French and is on holiday with his 8 year old son. He said yes to the coffee and his son adores dogs so came over to meet Charlie. I can’t believe my dog sometimes, the things he’ll let kids do, sunglasses? really!!!
The next thing I know I’m making a selection of paper aeroplanes! I had no idea I had an engineer hiding inside!! But hey – these babies fly!!! It’s funny we had nothing planned and we met some lovely people and had a really enjoyable afternoon. We also took the time to go to the swimming pool, which by the time we arrived was empty! So we had the place to ourselves.
As we returned from the pool, I went off for a shower and hair wash, the Hubster went back to the van to let Charlie out. As I returned to our pitch, I saw a pair of flip flops on the side of the road, I looked and sure enough they were the hubsters, but where was he? I picked them up and went to the van, no hubster! Had he disappeared into thin air? Had he spontaneously combusted? Had he been kidnapped? Where on earth had he gone without his shoes?
Two minutes later he walked around the corner, looking a little puffed, he’d been helping another but different French neighbour push his motorbike to get it to jump start!! I’m pleased to say it was worth the exertion!
It’s strange, we don’t tend to meet people on campsites, most of them are on holiday for a set period of time and so are quite insular, but the neighbours we have here are very sweet indeed and did you notice they were both French? I love the French! I’m not sure why I have such an affinity with them. Something to do with my genes probably.
Tomorrow we move on, I’ve been on the internet looking at what’s ahead and am full of hope that we will find something of interest, it’s looking good. We are also seriously thinking of going to Decathlon and buying some bikes and a cart thingy (normally used for pulling children) for Charlie. We’ve seen a couple of people using them for dogs and it may just be a solution. We’ll see!
